Configuring Cricket Wireless for Data - Posted:07/19/2015 Configuring Cricket Wireless for Data

07/19/2015

So I recently switched over to Cricket wireless and had an issue for about 1 week where I couldn't recieve data. Included in that was the lack of group text messaging.

Since I switched from AT&T, which is what Cricket is using for it's network as well, and the plan I signed up for included a data limit, I should have data. I found the problem and the fix is listed on Cricket's website

I have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.1.1, Lollipop, so the steps to get to the APN screen is a little different.

  1. Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Cellular networks > Access Point Names
  2. Click the + in the upper right
  3. Enter the information as presented on Cricket's website
  4. Use the upper right menu to Save
  5. Go back one screen to the APN list and tap the dot to enable this APN
  6. Reboot the device
  7. Test data and MMS
