Done as a commission piece, this Space Marine Commander turned out how its recipient expected.

The commission itself was provided with very well thought out idea of how the commander should look. The overall look was that of the studio paint job. Trying to match the studio paint job actually bothered me and caused me a painter's block on this piece. It wasn't that the model was looking wrong, but something just felt wrong while going forward with it. After an email with the client, I was give a little more leeway in how to do up the model, as long as the major symbology remained. The design of the left shoulder pad was the clients, but was pretty fun to paint. I discovered that I need to work on doing weaved designs within my freehand. I am happier with how my metallic work is coming out, but I still enjoy doing NMM over real metallics. I do need to thank Thistle for fixing and then greatly improving the imperial eagle design on the sword.
