The Redwings fans showed up in mass as if they knew it was going to be a big night for their team.  The Fever entered the pitch and gave their usual honor to Nurgle and took the field with confidence.  The Redwings won the coin toss and in a pivotal move elected to kick to the Fever.  The Fever could not capitalize on this good fortune.  There were no injuries what so ever in the first half not even a single KO.  It seemed that the Fever should have given their dues to Nuffle instead of Nurgle.  Toward the end of the first half Suhey appeared to have a guaranteed touchdown but stumbled at the goalline.  This was a heavey blow to the Fever.  During his halftime pep talk coach Thistle worked his beasts and Sluggo into a fever for their inept hitting.  This must have lit a spark as they racked up 4 casualties in the second half alone.  But it was too little too late.  The Redwings scored on their posession.  As the teams set up for what was to be the final drive of regulation, storm clouds rolled in and unleashed a torrential rain that would prove to be the Fevers ultimate demise.  Ball handling became too difficult even though the Redwings were well undermanned at this point and weren’t able to mount effective defenses.  As the Fever walked off the pitch in shame and enetered the locker room coach Thistle awaited the team with news.  The Fever had been selected as Coach Thistle’s representatives in the premire league. There is no shame in losing.  The Redwings played a good game and reaped the rewards.

As the armored bus pulled into the stadium grounds coach Thistle could hear the chant "mean machine mean machine...." rising to a deafening level.  The Machine fans had shown up but had their beloved team.  The game started with the Machine recieving.  It became readily apparent that the Machine players posessed speed and agility that the Fever hadn’t seen since before they were afflicted.  Hard nosed smash mouth football was going to have to be the Fever’s answer.  The first drive began with the Machine giving the Fever the runaround.  In the inital confusion Machine’s star thrower Paul Crewe found himself out of position and paid for it as the Fever showed him the quickest way to the bench.  With this key element out the Machine’s backup QB Nate Scarborough heaved a pass that could only be matched in distance by Hall of Famer Rhett Carve of the Reikland Reavers.  Unprepared for such a spectacular pass the Machines awaiting catcher could not haul it in.  The ball left the pitch only to be returned by an overzealous fan who in his excitement heaved the ball back onto the picth to the awaiting Fever.  This led to an eventual score by the Fever to put them up 1-0.  The Machine fans were not pleased by this and took to the pitch, but not even this could stop the Fever from mounting another scoring drive in the second half putting the game out of reach.  It just goes to show being Mean in this league won’t cut it.  You have to be plain Rotten.

A bit overconfident, coach Thistle’s Dengue Fever took the field.  The Crock Pot half pints had no shot, or did they.  The comissioners office had apparently given the Pots a incentive laden deal to entice the halflings to participate.  Those incentives made a game out of what should have been a slaughter.  To give credit where credit is due the halfpints gave the Har Naggarund Invitational Champs all they could handle and it took a sudden death overtime for the Fever to put the game away.  Make no mistake the convicts of the Mean Machine will not be taken as lightly.  The Fever has been given the wakeup call that they needed.

A seesaw game that was hilighted by a crowd surfing exhibition.  Poodah started a drive by sending Pestigor #7 into the stands.  Ichorbod "ratchucka" Krane returned the favor when the Rat Ogre was pushed in front of him the very next play.  It was an ill advised block that just seemed to work.  In the end the Fever come away with a tie after spending the first half being run all over by the rats.  It was a good day for a fight.

Coach Thistle has noticed that Nuffle only seems to shine on his dice rolls in a tournament setting.  For some reason the AV 7 Norsemen seem to be the most difficult team for the Fever to injure. The Blizzard at the end of the game made he norse feel at home and gave them a distinct advantage and the took it.  Well coached by the Storm but you better believe that the next meeting wont be so friendly.
